Moses is 30 years old and in 12th grade. He lives with his mother and younger sister who is also in high school. When he was in the 3rd grade he came down with an illness and had to stop going to school. It took a few years for him to get well and by then his father had passed away so there wasn’t money for him to go to school. He worked at different odd jobs until he saved enough to return to school. He finished the last four years of his primary school in two years scoring all A’s on his 7th grade exams. He then went to high school where his money ran out towards the end of 8th grade. We started assisting him in 9th grade. He is a very good student and is very well respected by his teachers and fellow students. He helps students who are struggling academically.
Moses likes to read although he doesn’t get a lot of opportunity to do so. He also likes practical knowledge and hopes one day to become an engineer, although he is a little discouraged that he could do this because of his age. Moses is very thankful for this opportunity to finish school and promises to work very hard. He wants to be a better person and live a better life so that he can help other children stay in school.
